How Your GPA Is Calculated

This calculator uses the standard 4.0-scale weighted GPA formula: each course's grade points are multiplied by credit hours, summed together, then divided by total credit hours. Letter grades are converted using the standard US scale (A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, etc.). Program competitiveness thresholds are benchmarked against published admissions standards at MIT, Stanford, CMU, Georgia Tech, and USC.
